A luxury 16 Safari experience that takes you to various wildlife conservancies in Kenya, where you can witness first-hand what is being done to conserve and protect elephants, rhinos and other wildlife.

This safari experience also includes Tanzania where you will visit the Ngorongoro Crater (A World Heritage Site)!

Accommodations

Day 1 - Hemingway's Hotel
Nairobi

Hemingway’s Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel tucked away in the outskirts of Nairobi. Offering an authentic world class luxury hotel experience, with dedicated butlers, exceptional guest services, a full service spa, and a view of the famous Ngong Hills.

Being a boutique hotel, there are only 45 suites each with their own private balcony overlooking the wonderfully manicured gardens.

Day 2 - Alex Hunter's Ol Pejeta Bush Camp
Ol Pejeta Conservancy

Alex Hunter’s Ol Pejeta Bush Camp will win your heart. It is small (only 6 luxury tents) allowing for a maximum of 12 to 14 guests. You can either have the entire camp to yourself or share with other travelers!

The camp offers fresh food mostly sourced from the Conservancy, in a very authentic family style setting.

Each tent can be best described as minimalist, rustic luxury along the Ewaso Nyiro River complete with bucket showers, warmed to the perfect temperature for you!

Wine, beer, sodas, cordials, juices and a bunch of other spirits are all included too!

As a side note, the owner Alex Hunter is quite often hosting his guests around the dinner table or fire place, with plenty of laughs to go around!

Day 3 - Loisaba Camp
Loisaba Conservancy
  • After our breakfast at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp, we are transferred to a local airstrip for the charter flight to Loisaba Conservancy, just in time for lunch!
  • Weather permitting we get to enjoy lunch on the deck overlooking the Conservancy. A view that will leave you breathless.
  • Loisaba offers a range of activities including horseback riding, safari walks, an infinity pool, spa and mountain biking along with a range of children’s activities.
  • We have a game drive scheduled this afternoon to search for wildlife not easily seen elsewhere – The Greater Kudu, Grevy Zebra, Oryx.
  • Dinner at the camp and an evening to relax and enjoy the sounds of Africa!
Day 4 - Loisaba Camp
Loisaba Conservancy
  • Get up before the sunrises to enjoy the early morning game drive and watch the wilderness come alive!
  • Back to the camp in the late morning, just before lunch so we can make time for some of the extra activities.
  • Game drive in the afternoon. All game drives are optional, so if you wish to hang out at the camp, that is absolutely fine!
  • Dinner and bed time!
Day 5 - Lewa Safari Camp
Lewa Conservancy
  • We can either get up early for a game drive, or sleep in a little and have breakfast on the deck, with a game drive en-route to the airstrip for our flight to Lewa Conservancy.
  • Make it in time for lunch at the beautifully rustic Lewa Safari Camp.
  • Here we are bound to see plenty of black and white rhinos, as well as large herds of elephant. Lewa is the benchmark for successful animal conservation and serves as a pillar to the cause.
  • Afternoon game drive to see firsthand how successful these conservation efforts are.
  • Dinner back at the camp.
Day 6 - Lewa Safari Camp
Lewa Conservancy
  • Wake up early to the sound of the birds, which we all love! In fact, the sound just seems to be getting every morning!
  • Breakfast in the bush overlooking the Conservancy, followed by a short game drive on our way to the Ngare Ndare forest just outside the conservancy.
  • Here we will walk across a wildlife corridor on a rope bridge, and maybe get lucky enough to have elephants below. Take a dip in some of the natural pools and enjoy the fresh waterfalls!
  • We will be back at camp in time for dinner after what is sure to be a fulfilling day!
Day 7 - Naboisho Camp
Naboisho Conservancy/Masai Mara
  • After breakfast we are setting off the Masai Mara! We are dropped off at the Lewa Airstrip for a short flight to the Mara.
  • On our way to the camp, we enjoy the wildlife as we have before, but in a completely different environment. The Mara is a savanna, miles and miles of grasslands.
  • Lunch at the camp, which is frequented by wildlife daily – elephants, lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, etc., all within feet of the camp.
  • Afternoon game drive with a sundowner.
  • We are back in time for a deliciously cooked gourmet dinner!
Day 8 and 9 - Naboisho Camp
Naboisho Conservancy/Masai Mara
  • Two more days in the Mara, only means we have ample opportunity to catch more wildlife. If any of us is feeling adventurous we can take a guided safari walk through the Mara conservancy.
  • Balloon safari on one the days, if any of us so wish to!
Day 10 - Tortilis Camp
Naboisho Conservancy/Masai Mara
  • After our last breakfast at Naboisho, we get to do a bit of flight hopping, as we fly from Masai Mara to Nairobi and then fly to Amboseli.
  • A late lunch at Tortilis Camp, which overlooks the stunning Mt. Kilimanjaro!
  • Amboseli is a paradise for elephant lovers. They come within a few feet of the vehicles and can be seen in herds of 50+!
  • We are fortunate enough to get to enjoy this for 2 days!
  • Dinners will be at the camp.
  • The camp does have a pool and offers an option for a guided walking safari in the conservancy.
Day 11 - Tortilis Camp
Amboseli National Park
  • By now we are all so used to waking up before the sun rises, but sleeping in can always be an option!
  • Early morning game drive with breakfast in the bush, hopefully next to some elephants!
  • Game drive in the evening and a sunset with the silhouette of Mt. Kilimanjaro (weather permitting!).
Day 12 - Gibbs Farm
Karatu/Ngorongoro Tanzania
  • Now, things get a little different as we drive to the Kenya/Tanzania border known as Namanga!
  • We are going to clear customs and pay our $100 Visa fee at the counter, and show off our Yellow Fever vaccination card.
  • Our Tanzanian guides are waiting on the other side, bags loaded and all! They will be with us for the next 3 days.
  • We are starving right now, so we get to stop in Arusha at an actual coffee farm, known as Arusha Coffee Lodge for lunch!
  • Hop back in the car and off we go to Gibbs Farm for our first night in Tanzania!
Day 13 - Gibbs Farm
Karatu/Ngorongoro Tanzania
  • Farm fresh breakfast in the morning. If one of us picked out some eggs the night before, that is what is served at breakfast!
  • Then we put on our hiking shoes once again. On this two-hour hike through the forested slopes of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, we are going to discover a magnificent waterfall and incredible “elephant caves” created by elephants digging up the earth to ingest the vitamin-rich soil. We may even see buffalo, bushbuck, waterbuck and baboons, also attracted by the soil.
  • Back in time for lunch overlooking the coffee farm.
  • After lunch, we are heading to Lake Manyara to see some flamingos, and maybe those tree climbing lions.
  • Back to Gibbs for a farm fresh dinner!
Day 14 - Gibbs Farm
Karatu/Ngorongoro Tanzania
  • Wake up early again, because today is going to be fun!
  • We are driving into the Ngorongoro Crater, a world heritage site! Where we are going to be spend the entire day, picnic included inside the crater.
  • Head back to Gibbs for our final night on Safari and at the Farm.
Day 15 - Hemingway's Hotel
Nairobi, Kenya
  • Yes, it is a sad day. We have to head back to Nairobi and bid farewell to the safari life.
  • Lunch will be in Arusha before we hop on our short flight back to Nairobi.
  • We have the afternoon at leisure at Hemingway’s before we our dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 16 - Departure Day :(
1
  • Finally, we get to sleep in a little longer than usual. Even though our body clock now automatically wakes us up at 5am!
  • We can slowly make our way to breakfast before we get to visit the Giraffe Center and make out with them (they like to kiss), or just feed them. Once our hearts have melted, we are hop back in the car and visit the famous Daphne Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, where our hearts will melt even more. Arms length away from rescued orphaned elephant babies splashing in the mud and being rowdy!
  • Afternoon at leisure or perhaps take the time to visit the local shopping areas and boutiques.
  • Drop off at the airport for our final departure!
